Conversatorio, Cangrejos y Cafe: Community & Cultural Identity Panel Discussion
November 22, 2022, 7pm CST
This panel discussion explores real-life questions raised in our upcoming theater performance, “Cangrejos y Cafe” (Dec 10-11, 2022). Set in 1950s Puerto Rico in San Mateo de Cangrejos and in Las Montañas de Borikén, the story raises questions of how cultural identity is connected with communities and what happens to that identity when the communities, the Barrios, are destroyed to make way for “progress.”
